Fall Football Conditioning Clinic - Important Information for Registered ParticipantsUpdatedTuesday September 8, 2020 byMichelle Benczkowski.
Thank you for registering for the clinics. We are all disappointed that we couldn't run a regular season this year but these clinics will at least allow the kids to stay active and connected with football.
There are a few details to share before we begin. All of the sessions this year will be held on the newly constructed game field in Brush Mountain Park beyond the concessions stand. The restrooms will be open but the snack shack will not. Please make sure your child has their own water bottle and is wearing a mask to the field. Also please be sure to bring your signed waiver tomorrow night as we will be doing a check in to ensure we are in compliance with State and Local requirements. It is critical that we follow these guidelines to ensure we can run these clinics for the entire planned 6 weeks.
The first session on Tuesday night's from 6 to 7 pm will be for the kids who were 9 years old or younger as of 8/31/20. The second session from 7-8 on Tuesday night's will be for kids that are 10 and older as of 8/31/20. We have the same number of kids registered for each group so please attend the appropriate session for your child's league age. The Tuesday session will be run by STA Sports and will focus on speed, agility and strength and conditioning with some fun mixed in.
The Thursday sessions will all be held at the same time for all ages and will run from 6 to 7:30. The first hour of the sessions will focus more on football fundamentals and the kids will be broken down into groups of 8 to 10 players and will use a circuit model to ensure each player gets exposed to as many positions and techniques as possible. This first week we are going to be randomly assigning the kids to a group and the coaches will be observing each player so that we can create assigned teams for all of the following sessions. The last half hour of the Thursday sessions will be dedicated to flag and getting the kids working on some of the techniques we teach during the clinics.
We are always looking for more volunteers to help out and if you are interested in helping and have not registered to do so please reach out to me directly. Thank you again for you registering and I look forward to seeing everyone out there tomorrow night.
